I (Tom ) am a gap year student and I'm going to be studying French & Spanish at university in October. Sammy (19 years old) studies PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) at university at the moment.
I'm fluent in French however Sammy only knows a basic level, I'd be more than happy to act as a translator though :)
I love travelling and I've used Workaway a few times to discover new areas of France and meet people. We're hoping Couchsurfing will give us a great opportunity to meet awesome people and have a real, local experience whilst travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This July (2015), my friend (Sammy) and I have decided to cycle along the west coast of France. Once we get to Bordeaux we're going to catch a train and travel to Paris. We hope you'll be able to welcome us on our journey as we're really looking forward to sharing our stories and discovering new things :)

Interests

Sammy and I both adore music and play in a rock band together. I'm also a huge football fan and I go and see my favourite team Southampton FC often :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Pearl Jam, Nirvana, RHCP, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Incubus, Biffy Clyro and loads more! Anything from acoustic to rock/grunge/metal!

Movies - Amélie, La Haine, Star Wars, Pulp Fiction, Into The Wild, Ratatouille, Pedro Almodóvar's films. Also rom coms are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine - I love Notting Hill and basically anything with Jennifer Aniston in it!

Books - I tend to read a lot of French and Spanish books in order to advance my studies, my favourite authors are Albert Camus and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The main thing we're hoping to share is our culture and experience. Also as English speakers we're more than happy to provide some language practice for anyone hoping to practice their English. We're also happy to make some simple meals :)
