About Me

I am a Canadian Citizen living and working in Australia. I grew up on the ocean and surrounded by nature so this is where my happy place is. I've been playing music since a young age but pride myself on a well-rounded personality and a love for conversation. See below for more information!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am Couchsurfing to meet new people and see places through a local's perspective. My brother has used Couchsurfing for a few years now and has made lifelong friendships.

Music, Movies, and Books

My father was a music producer so I grew up in a household of song and dance. My tastes are in a wide range of jazz and blues, to flamenco, to classical, to rock n roll, funk, soul, trance, electronic, hip hop.. you name it! Good tunes are good tunes and every aspect of life has a different soundtrack. Also, my mother was a journalist so I take an interest in ancient and modern history books and political insight or satire. I grew up as a bookworm, soaking up anything I could. I'm currently reading 'The Power of One' by Bryce Courtenay.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I booked a one-way ticket to Ethiopia without any accommodation, friends or connections. It ended up being the most challenging and rewarding month of my life hitchhiking and taking local transit through all corners of the country. My father taught me that "the most rewarding friendships you will have in life are with people that seem the most different than you because you will find we are all the same." I left with many stories of near death, tragedy, humanity and some of the most genuinely kind human experiences and friendships one could have. These are stories I'd love to share with someone over a glass of wine!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn and yearn to teach. We all have something to learn from each other on this earth and I choose to sift through conversation to find that! I think sharing is what makes us human in our most primitive state. I spend my free time reading and learning history, especially to help me try and understand this complicated modern world we live in. I love to cook and try new things because sharing meals is the best way to form a friendship.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Life is short and one must make it sweet. I find the most rewarding feeling to make a genuine connection with other human beings no matter how different one may be. We all want the same things in life; respect, love and a future for our families and loved ones. Once you understand that you can find common ground and understanding with every individual on earth. This is how I live my life. If I can share my skills; cooking, building, music, philosophy or genuine hard work, I will.
