I've been in Asheville for about 27 years. Feels like way too long sometimes, but it's a great place to be. While I don't know everything about the area, I am definitely more than happy to help you make the most of your time here.

My work schedule varies day to day and week to week, but I usually work some weekends and it's not unusual for me to total 45 hours in a week. Thursday nights and Friday nights are usually going to be the best times for me to host, but I try to be flexible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A good friend of mine has been on Couchsurfing both as a guest and as a host for years. After meeting several of his surfers and enjoying their stories and just connecting with new people, I decided to be a host too. With any luck, some day I'll be able to do enough traveling to also be a guest in some of your homes as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of people say they listen to all kinds of music, but I really mean it. You're infinitely more likely to hear me playing Beethoven than Beyonce, though. My current favorites are old country, electronic dance music, and death metal, and those change with my whims. I try never to subject people to sounds that they don't enjoy though :)

I don't watch a lot of TV, but when I do I prefer comedies like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Simpsons, etc.

I haven't been reading much lately, but I love the works of Hunter S. Thompson, Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer, and many others. As a child, my absolute favorites were The Lord of the Rings series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started building a house right out of college, but got about halfway done and decided to sell it to my sister and her fiance. Not amazing, but unusual at least.

Along the same lines, I was raised by wolves. Well, a wolf and some humans, to be fair.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm down to learn pretty much anything. Especially useful skills. But seriously, pretty much anything.

I can teach you how to clean like nobody's business and offer some help in drawing or painting. I can also help you find your way around town.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You are welcome to use my couch, bathroom, kitchen, and whatever else in my apartment so long as you are courteous, safe, and tidy.

Depending on the timing of your stay, I will also be glad to show you around or bring you to get togethers with friends, etc.
