I am Tom, currently working in the field of evolutionary immunology, but interested in way more than that. After living in Germany and USA, I have returned back to the Czech Republic and live in South Bohemia. I am fascinated by science, biology and life in general. I am a tea drinker, but can't help my Czech genes and love beer and wine as well. I used to dance ballroom and squash, but now I slowed down a bit and try yoga, gym and running instead. When I get a chance, I love to hike mountains.
I am curious and ask strange questions and I am always happy to share my enthusiasm for things I love.
On long autumn and winter nights, I make pipes from the branches I collect on my summer trips to nature.
Last year I walked 380 km of the Camino de Santiago and the end of the world was my strongest experience.

Currently, I'm enjoying reading Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst by Robert Sapolsky. This year I've read the Stories of your life and others by Ted Chiang, The brain by David Eagleman, The Paper Managerie by Ken Liu and the Endurance by Ken Liu.

I do have a subscription for South-Bohemian Philharmonics, and I run with DnB in my ears.

I am fascinated by the immune system and so I can tell you a lot about it.
I can teach you how to make a pipe, but also bring some I made myself.
I am a decent cook, will be more than happy to share some Czech recipes with you.
