Overview
About Me
I am an 18 year old currently on a Gap year travelling around Central America for 4 months before I begin studying Biochemistry at University in October. I have begun my travels by spending 6 weeks at the manatee and primate rehabilitation centre Wildtracks, near Sarteneja in the north of Belize. It’s is a fantastic experience for me as I’ve never been able to have such an active role in the conservation of endangered animals and Belize is the first country I fell in love with whilst travelling. It was my holiday there in 2013 that was the inspiration for my Gap year in the first place, and now I can’t wait to see the rest of Central America, building my Spanish skills and meeting as many new people as I can along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the reasons I love travelling is because it allows you to meet new people from different cultures and often speaking different languages. I thrive in this environment and staying in someone else’s home and making new friends across the globe is one of the best ways to satisfy this.

Music, Movies, and Books
I do enjoy reading but normally there’s something else that I’d rather be doing or exploring than staring at a book. I do however love music and although I like many different types, my favourites tend to be 80’s and 90’s rock and pop bands such as Pink Floyd or Stereophonics. And my favourite movies tend to be hose that win the most oscars, regardless of the genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Summer 2015 I climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which is the tallest peak in Africa standing at 5895m. As one of the toughest things I’ve ever completed, it’s certainly something I’m proud of.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love explaining biological concepts to people as that is something that I’m passionate about and am looking forward to studying to a higher level next year. I also enjoy teaching anything else which I feel confident enough to do so.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share interesting conversation and fun with hosts because I’m not a particularly timid person and usually feel comfortable talking to new people. What else I share with the hosts depends entirely on where conversation leads and what I think is most interesting!
