About Me

I am a TV producer, working on various documentaries for the BBC and other international channels in my day-to-day life.
I love to travel, am a keen cyclist, with most of my experience of couchsurfing coming from the trips I have done on my bike!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have only very recently joined CouchSurfing in the hope of finding some hosts for my epic challenge I have set for myself! I am going to be travelling through France on my single-speed bicycle for a Charity based in the UK called “Alzheimer’s Society”, a charity who help those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia (if Google translator is not playing tricks, I believe it is called démence in French!)
Being a fairly keen cyclist and also very keen on jouer au foot, I thought a combination of the two would be brilliant! I am therefore planning on cycling around France during the Euro 2016 tournament, attempting to get to the fan parks within the city in time to watch the game. My route is simply planned out as follows:
Lens – 25th of June: Round of 16 fixture
Bordeaux – 2nd of July: Quarter-Finals
Marseille 8th of July: Semi-Finals
Paris 10th July: Finals
I will try and reach each destination by this date, mostly on the bicycle, stopping in between the cities between each day of riding!
The idea is to get all the way to the Final without spending much money at all, so a night on the sofa would help me out massively. If anyone fancied getting on their bike and riding along for a day then they would be more than welcome to (but you’ll have to keep up!).
This means I will be attempting to ride the best part of 2000km in around 17 days and I may not arrive in some places until late in the evening and would probably have to leave early morning to! But I would love some company when watching the games, while it would also be nice to enjoy a drink and talk about my days riding and to hear all the fantastic things my host has done too!

I have travelled to many places, some even with my bike, my latest five-minute film on my cycling adventures can be viewed here! - https://vimeo.com/156701446
Even if you can’t offer me a sofa for the night, I hope you at least enjoy the film!

Thanks for your time and Vive la France, I can’t wait for my trip!
