About Me

I was a web developer for the past 10 years, but quit my day-job to pursue my dreams in January 2015.

I am a self-published author, philosopher, group leader, and working toward becoming a professional motivational speaker. I write and give talks about spiritual awakening, Buddhism, Toaism, and Bon: The Tibetan Art of Positive Thinking. I have been described as Wayne Dyer meets Alan Watts.

I have self-published 4 books, including my most recent, titled, "Don't Read This Book! It Might Cause a Mid-Life Crisis!"

My website is: www.PositiveEnabler.com

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to Couchsurfing! I've used Air B&B a lot and had great experiences. Friends referred me to Couch Surfing, and it sounds like an even more amazing way to explore the world.

I am a traveler with a home-base in Kansas City (for now), and breaking out of the box a little more everyday. Actually it's not really a box ... It's more like a sphere.

Interests

Writing, intelligent conversation, meditation, camping, hiking, being out in nature, writing, reading, philosophy, Taoism. I also enjoy Buddhism and attending services, but I don't consider myself a Buddhist. Probably because I haven't found a sangha I really feel connected to yet.

My goal is to give a Ted Talk and be a motivational speaker.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar, Africa in 2003, teaching English.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to learn about spirituality and philosophy from the philosopher Alan Watts, I have tons of his lectures as MP3s!!

I also lead workshops on how to Live the Life of Your Dreams.

Also, I have been called a "Positive Enabler" by my friends. I help my friends see their "problems" from a different perspective, a positive perspective, and help them see how to transcend (not solve) whatever it is holding them back in their lives.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation & interesting life experiences.

My best trait is that I'm a very positive person! I always see the silver lining in everything.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Ecuador, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In

Madagascar, United States
