ABOUT ME

Best and oldest friends and my daughter and grand daughter put up with me, with humor and love. In my life I have had very few really, awful, bad experiences and many many awesome, beautiful, perfect encounters with other human beings. Shooting and editing moving images has been my way to study 'us'. I have made plenty of mistakes. I am lucky to have found early on in my life work that from the first day I have relished and that continues to stretch and grow me as much as a 68 year old man can be stretched and grown. I have been a 'filmmaker' (what I called myself) for almost 50 years. It has been my personal excuse to get to know people often total strangers in unlikely places.

Interests

Perhaps I was jumping ahead a bit in the personal description by characterizing my passion for recording our lives on video. One man/person documentary, working with good friends, has become my pleasure and work mode. I am very interested in doing everything I can to slow down the Trillion dollar United States annual spending for war/defense/security. I am very interested in connecting with people in Sunnyvale, Palmdale CA and Fort Worth TX who work for or have friends who work for, Lockheed Martin, in all capacities and phases of LM's weapons manufacturing. I am interested in conversations with these people about how they imagine the $ 100 million that LM receives every day from the American people, could be used with there talents, to accomplish energy independence in every community in America, for example, or, develop water systems so every one on the planet has access to clean safe drinking water; systems to mitigate the effects of climate change. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

By now I am writing this for my own entertainment. I will fludge ahead, however, to an afternoon, a few days after my 17th birthday about to disembark from the passenger ship that I had just taken from New York to Barcelona, Spain. I had abandoned my family of 6 siblings and mom and dad because at the last minute the Italian Line was unable to get the Volkswagen Microbus on the same ship with all the family so, with some trepidation, Dad put a big wad of money in my pocket, gave me the the keys to the Volkswagon and my ticket in steerage where the students traveled and I was on my own to see the world. Standing there as we tied up and waited to go ashore in this mysterious new city charged with adrenalin and excitement but scared as hell when I saw the traffic I was not known for my driving skills on the bay road where I grew up. I had many doubts immediately. I am still that 17 year old about to disembark for a new adventure. I try to keep track of as much as seems right on video.
