About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Keep learning new things and keep traveling as much as possible
ABOUT ME
I finished grad school at U Chicago studying Psychology and specifically social media and the internet a couple of years ago and have been working pretty much doing that type of work in the form of user research since then! I love it because I get to talk to a ton of people throughout my day. Music and sports are huge passions of mine and I love getting out and exploring the world and its cultures
PHILOSOPHY
really I just like to get to know new people, and have a great time doing whatever.
I can be indecisive or incredibly spontaneous depending on who I'm with
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've loved the limited experiences of host families I've had in the past, and find it's the quickest way to feel integrated in a culture. I'd love to show you around Seattle or get to know you. I've surfed a few times, and have gotten to know some locals through CS. I've also done a research paper about CS
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just getting started, but I had a host family in Japan for about a week that I loved and got very attached to - The potential for kindness to strangers is truly amazing once you've had the experience. I surfed in Chicago while visiting school and have met a few great people around the world!
Interests
Music, photography! hiking, tennis, adventuring, thinking about psychology and philosophy. My goal is to feel like I could return to anywhere I've traveled, fit in, and live a fulfilling life with others around me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Indiana Jones and all the others from my childhood (ghostbusters, x files, star wars, Disney), comedies, and serious ones like Into the Wild. Way too many to list!
Music: All kinds of music, rock, funk, jazz, classical, polka, hip-hop, blues, french pop, ..really just about anything :)
Books: Pretty much anything about true human stories: jon krakauer is a top author for me, or stories about the human condition (psych enthusiast that I am); jack london is another favorite author. Otherwise adventure stories and anything I will learn something from!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I find it incredible and lucky that I've been to two Olympic Games :D
I've gotten lost in no less than 20 cities around the world AND found my way back, at least 4 or 5 that I had very, very limited language skills in :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Share: English (that's not unique!), Some Japanese :) I get into conversations about psychology often and share my love for traveling, photography, and sports ... I've traveled a good bit and have lots of experiences that I like to share.
Learn: I ALWAYS try to learn about the cultures I am visiting. It's the only way to truly integrate and feel part of a place, and it's the most lasting thing you could participate in when traveling.
