ABOUT ME

Northern Irish by extraction, I was a Londoner for over ten years before taking myself off to Barranquilla, Colombia to teach and live. For the past year I've been here, working on my Spanish and getting to know the country.

I love outdoors activities, and whenever I get the chance I'm off hiking, running, cycling, swimming, dancing and travelling. I equally love culture and the arts, and am just as at home in a gallery, theatre, cinema or concert.

PHILOSOPHY

I could be bounded in a nutshell and count myself a king of infinite space.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a spare room in my apartment in Barranquilla. As yet, I don't have a bed there, only an air bed, plus I have a sofa. But watch this space.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with a lovely gay couple in the heart of the Castro, San Francisco, who showed me all around the neighbourhood and took me to lots of amazing eateries! I love that Couchsurfing gives you the opportunity to hang out with someone who knows the city or local area in a way a tourist never can.

兴趣

Reading, writing, theatre-going, movie-watching, drinking, discussing, running, yoga, hiking, swimming, surfing (want to do more!), learning to play the uke (badly), learning Spanish, meeting new people.

At the moment I am loving the novels of Herman Hesse. Recently read Narcissus and Goldmund, and Steppenwolf.

I'm a sucker for French movies.

Love discovering new music. Really into Champeta right now (for all you Costeños).

Walking the Camino de Santiago was a life-changing, meditative experience. Slow travel rocks.

Cycling from London to Berlin in two weeks with a friend and a tent was awesome.

Living a two hour drive from the spectacular Parque Tayrona has been life changing also!
