ABOUT ME

By outward appearance I am the picture of normality, but the truth is I'm about as mainstream as a dog is good at climbing trees. My sense of humor and sense of adventure are both well cultivated, as is my taste for good food and wine.

Interests

I am an avid snow skier in winter and bicyclist in summer. I love the mountains around Salt Lake and just generally enjoy the outdoors. I'm a bit of a news junkie, even though the state of journalism seems to me to have deteriorated considerably over the years. I work for a software and services company, and am likely the least technical person in the organization. It's the best group of people I've ever worked with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Early one morning under a bright blue sky at Snowbird I dropped into an untracked chute filled with waist deep powder. I had to aggressively up-unweight in the turns to float up to where I could get a breath.

I was treated to my life's most amazing dinner and evening of entertainment (so far) in Hong Kong by people I'd met a week earlier in Tokyo.

This one left me awestruck, but in a terrible way - I was in Washington DC at a hotel across from Treasury on 9/11. I heard the explosion at the Pentagon and watched live on TV the 2nd plane hitting the WTC, and then the towers collapse.
