About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"I think people place too much emphasis on their careers. I wish we could all live in the mountains at high altitude. That's where I see myself in five years. How about you? " (this is a joke/movie quote - not my real mission)

ABOUT ME

I'm the 6th of 9 children. I have a son. I am good at logic. I like to sing. I'm usually not so terse. I also like to play basketball and guitar (but not at the same time).

PHILOSOPHY

I used to have a personal philosophy. I still do, but I used to too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a few couches :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-surfed through Switzerland and Austria. I had an amazing time! While I was over there I found a host for Oktoberfest (outside of Couchsurfing) in Munich!

Interests

Singing, songwriting, playing guitar, playing basketball, agro-forestry, food (cooking and eating), reading, surfing (web and couch - haven't done real surfing yet, but I would love to learn).

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors I like include Monty Roberts, Grace Llewellyn, Richard Feynman, Isaac Asimov, Sally Fallon, Mark Twain, Stephen King, David Sedaris, Dave Barry, Scott Adams, Natasha Campbell-McBride, Harvey Karp, Ran Prieur, and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sang at the white house when I was thirteen. But the birth of my son was the most amazing thing I've seen in my lifetime.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning and teaching members of my family about fermentation and eating better (meaning less processed foods and more foods like what our ancestors ate hundreds of years ago). Wild Fermentation by Sandor Katz and Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon are two of a few books I'm working with right now. I think that better nutrition can help me and others in many ways. Last year I started brewing my own kombucha, beet kvass, ginger ale, and a few other things. This year I started the GAPS diet and am loving it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Germany, Puerto Rico, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Colombia, United States
