About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get myself around the world enjoying life, people, culture, landscapes, and music along the way

ABOUT ME

Having been brought up in the wild of the Scottish Highlands i'm an adventurous and active person who enjoys much of what the great outdoors has to offer. I love travelling, playing guitar and most outdoor pursuits.

I am a member of Helpx and try to spend as much of my time as possible volunteering with the many different people and projects that they have. I have worked on an animal rescue farm, ecological camping project and self sustainability project in a variety of countries. I really love the skills share aspect to the helpx ethos, and the people you meet are amazing!!

I have recently returned from the Arctic where I was working as a volunteer guide and expedition leader on a Husky farm. It was one of the most challenging and rewarding times of my life.

I completed a long distance cycle from South Korea to the UK in 2011. 13620 km and 9 months long it was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and there will be plenty more to come. If your interested you can read the blog of my cycle at www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/8142

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Certaintly done my fair share of sleeping on peoples couches over the years. from Scotland to Asia and back by bicycle I've recieved a roof over my head and friendship, sometimes through CS, sometimes not, normally just by meeting people and becoming friends on my travels. It's an organic experience and one I hope to further by becoming part of this vibrant community.
