Hi!

I’m Tomas, a PhD researcher living in Leuven, Belgium, though I’m originally from Medellín, Colombia, I've moved to Europe.

Outside of research, I enjoy music. I’ve tried learning a few instruments over the years (with mixed results!), but I did study sound engineering, so I have a decent understanding of music and audio stuff.

My biggest passion, though, is fencing. It’s something I try to practice regularly. I love a good tight match when it's not obvious who's gonna win. Either being in it or watching it.

I joined Couchsurfing because I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their perspectives and experiences. I think there’s a lot to gain from seeing the world through someone else’s eyes, and I’m always curious to hear about what others are passionate about.

I’m respectful, easygoing, and genuinely interested in connecting with others. Whether it’s sharing a meal, exploring your city, or just having a good conversation, I’m looking forward to it.

I travel often for academic reasons and I thought, why not combine it with meeting new people?

Music:
I listen to a bit of everything, but my more frequented genres are classical music, Jazz and a bit of Colombian folklore.

Once I was in a flixbus which took a detour around the french Alps instead of the highway giving an unforgettable experience
