Overview
About Me
Total couchsurfing newb, but have traveled since I can remember, mostly with family. Sorry for the lack of references :(, but i guess you have to start somewhere.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My sister and I are on a trip through Europe this summer and despite positive experiences in hostels, are willing to experience cities from a more local perspective.
Interests
Skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, politics, environmentalism. I try to live outside as much as I can.
Music, Movies, and Books
My music choices are errant and unpredictable, but enjoy the company of the Grateful Dead very much. Psychedelic rock is big, as well as rock bands from Minnesota (Useful Jenkins and Dead Larry)
Desert Solitaire and The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey are two books which have made a profound impact on my thinking as an environmentalist. Jon Krakauer's books have also inspired me as an outdoos enthusiast, such as Into the Wild, Into Thin Air, Eiger Dreams, and Where Men Win Glory.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Impossible to choose just one, but moving from New York to Utah after living there for 18 years was the most important desicion I have made yet.
Teach, Learn, Share
Maybe give some insight into American politics, although as of late this is becoming increasingly hard to do...
I would love to learn about the political climate in Europe, regarding prominent issues such as migration, EU membership, globalism, and such.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Mediocre cooking, enthusiasm about the natural world, and hopefully intellectually stimulating conversation.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Slovakia
Countries I’ve Lived In
United States
