I'm Tomek. What makes me different from all the other Tomeks on Couchsurfing? I think it’s the fact that love France and the French language. So much that even when I think of a French road sign, the thought of just being in France and seeing this sign is exciting :)

And the road sign brings me by pure coincindence(I’m just putting on ‘paper’ the flow of thoughts that comes) to another thing that I’m crazy about – it’s roads. Roads you will ask ? How can one be crazy about roads ? Am I some kind of an engineer ? In fact no, it’s just that 5 years ago I was looking for information about a road in construction and by conincidence(I believe coincidence is the best thing that happens to me in life) I found myself on a forum where each segment of motorway being in construction in Poland has it’s own thread and there are thousands of crazy people like me. So I fell in love with roads. Ah, I also love cars, especially fast and old, so I bought one like this and discovered how much I like fixing it and getting my hands dirty :)

Also, 3 year ago I tried hitchhiking for the first time. I wanted to start small so I decided to go only 70 km from Warsaw. I cought a car and it was so great talking to the driver that I barely even noticed we arrived. I left the car, crossed the road, put up a sign and a smile on my face. And at that moment it came to me that I hitchhiking is great!

Ah, I forgot that this section is called About Me and not About the things you are crazy about. So, About Me, people tell me I have a great sense of humour and I should be a comedian. I generally believe people so it must be true. They also tell me I'm a very good listener. I almost never lie. Almost, because when a girl asks me if she is looking good in this dress then sometimes I hesitate ;) I’m also very curious about the world and about people. That’s why I ask a lot of questions (sometimes too many). But thanks to that I can talk about many different topics. Because of this curiosity I also love meeting people from other cultures. Each time I meet someone I feel enriched(fancy word but it’s true). Recently I met a guy from Saudi Arabia and I learned that there are no taxes in Saudi Arabia and that it’s possible to work 16 hours a day... standing up in front of the computer( because sitting is too mainstream ;) ). There is probably more About Me but it’s 00:17, and I’m not that self-conscious to know all About Me, I leave it to you to find out in person, you won’t regret it - well, at least I have never had any complaints :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The second time I was doing hitchhiking I went to Radom, which is like the least touristically attractive city in Poland, to sightsee, because I wanted to see the face of the driver when I tell him that I’m going to Radom to sightsee. Turned out that he knows the city’s history from the Middle Ages to today and now I know more about Radom then my friend from Radom. That’s the beauty of hitchhiking I want to find the same beauty with Couchsurfing, that is meeting great people and learning interesting stuff.
