ABOUT ME

Journalist, have lived in many countries, love travelling, love learning new languages. Believer in conversation as an aesthetic pursuit. I gave up smoking just over a year ago, an achievement of which I'm proud. But I still drink occasionally.

I'm English but now live in Amsterdam. Cities I lived in before include Budapest, Bucharest and Brussels. That means, I guess, that Barcelona, Bilbao and Bangkok should follow.

I'd like to spend more time in Central Asia and the Middle East. I'd love to live in Istanbul one day.

I always fly cabin-baggage only.

My favourite film is Festen. My favourite book is Ferdydurke or the Master and Margarita.
