About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Even if I travel less, due to my work, I keep the backpackers' spirit when I meet travelers in Geneva.

ABOUT ME

We have a very good project : as we love skiing and we love traveling, we want to try the ski resorts of every country in Europe!
We are driving our car through the countries for 2 weeks every winter.
Our car is very funny, it's the forth person of the trip, with a strong personality.
We are a group of 3 very good friends from France.
During our two first trips, in 2011 and 2012, we went to Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia, Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia.
We did a lot of couchsurfing every time.
The 3 of us are very funny and friendly, and ready to try any new experience, meet local people, discover real life and not only museums and touristic main topics. We have loved to meet local people during our two first trips through the Balkans!!!

A little bit of us : Thomas Guillaume and Romain, 31 years ols, we met in the University in Paris, 12 years ago.
Now I leave in Geneva and Guillaume is in Toulouse (south of France) when Romain is still in Paris.
We love travelling, we went together into many many countries, we all lived abroad, and all tougether we have visited 2/3 of the countries in the world.
But we must focus on our nice Europe instead of flying far away, that's why we now want to discover the nice places Eastern Europe.

The idea for 2013 is to ski in Poland (Zakopane), Slovakia(Jasna) and Ukraine (Bukovel), with also few cities to visit : we will pass in Krakow, Lviv in Ukraine, Budapest and Vienna.
Our trip this year starts on the 23thd of march and last for 2 weeks until the 6th of april
We have no schedule yet, we will just drive our way, following our impressions, and stay longer if the snow is good !
We would be very happy to meet some couchsurfers.

If you think you live more or less on our way and could host us (we are used to slip on the floor, as not so many couchsurfers can host the 3 of us), the please email me tomgrig@gmail.com

Hope to meet you as much as possible of you on our way.
Thomas

PHILOSOPHY

You coming to Geneva? You are friendly and you want to meet locals?
Contact me! And we can meet, talk, drink, party, help, advice.
What a shame to visit a city with a guide book instead of a real guide.
I will be happy to meet and help any traveller. Let's have a drink on the lake shore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled across the Balkans during the last two winters, to try the ski resorts over there, and with ma two friends, we have done a lot of couchsurfing, meeting locals or expats, but always sharing our experiences with great people. I want to thank all of them in Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Montenegro.

Interests

I love life, that's the best thing! And with that, you can do whatever you want: I love going to parties where I don't know anyone, meeting people in the bus or speaking with people from all over the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When visiting Albania, in february 2011, we went to the city of KorCe in the east of the country. This part of Albania is beautiful. The landscapes are wonderful. After checking on couchsurfing, it appeared that there was only one couschurfer over there. Only one! So I wrote to this girl, Julia, as a "last hope" before the hotel, and what a luck, Julia was there and was able to host us and to take us around the city and to invite us into one these restaurant where you would never go if you are not leaded! We had a different view about Albania when we left. Despite the fact she was the only couchsurfer, she made our time a very nice stay - thanks again Julia.

Countries I’ve Visited
