CURRENT MISSION

May 2016 to September 2016

I am lucky enough to currently have the opportunity to work with a client in Bogota, Colombia over the next 5 months and while I am in South America I am hoping to travel to as many nearby places as possible and connect with locals.

ABOUT ME

I have a passion for the beach, snow, friends and family. I love to kite surf in my hometown of Perth but cannot resist the urge to travel for the snow.

After working for almost 4 years in Perth, Western Australia after finishing university, I now wish to travel using this experience and my friendships made while hosting couch surfers in Australia.

I moved to Vancouver, Canada in December 2015 to work and travel both Canada and America, with an aim to stay for over 12 months (I now expect to stay for 3 years or more). Before returning to Australia, I plan to travel through Europe for a number of months to meet up with many of the friends I have made/hosted.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first began hosting in Perth after hearing about couch surfing through friends who had either surfed or hosted.

Owning my own home in Perth, it has been a great experience hosting and getting to know others from around the world (despite mainly Germans! haha).

Since I have moved to Vancouver, I have now had a chance to surf myself while road tripping down the west coast of the US, having a great time staying with hosts at a number of places along the way.

I have also had the pleasure of reconnecting with friends who I have met by hosting them in Perth and being able to stay and check out the city they live in.

It all depends on the mood, however electronic music seems to always fit any mood lately.

I don't mind rock and hip hop, basically whatever is played on Triple J - a popular "alternative" Australian radio station that plays a lot of new Australian music!

- Bouldering for the first time with my CS host in Portland
- Watching the Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavs in Oakland (the year Cleveland won 2016)
- Cycling Venice and Santa Monica Beach in LA
- Snowglobe Musical Festival in Lake Tahoe 2015/16 NYE.
- Staying in Montreal with a CS friend I hosted in Montreal and riding around the city.
- Experiencing the Niagara Falls, Toronto
- Visiting Bogota, Colombia for work and being able to travel the local area, getting in touch with locals and being shown amazing sights including Medellin and Cartagena
- Visiting Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain in Cusco and spending a weekend sampling various Pisco cocktails in Lima
- Staying in Sao Paulo and sharing a Brazilian BBQ with CS friends I hosted in Perth
- Visiting Islands off Thailand
- Bali with friends when I had just turned 18
