Overview
About Me
Hi there! 🖐️ I'm an extroverted, slightly nerdy, jack-of-all-trades. My passion lies in creating YouTube videos 📹 for my channel, writing jokes, and doing stand-up comedy 🎭.
Recently, I've developed an interest in exercising 🏋️♂️, going to the gym, bouldering (sometimes), and cycling 🚵♂️.
I'm a vegan 🌱, not just for health, but also for ethical and environmental reasons 🌏.
I value emotional awareness in people and appreciate deep, meaningful conversations about feelings and ideas 💬. Generally, I'm easygoing, but as an extroverted person who's sensitive to noise, I appreciate my quiet, private moments 🤫.
Travel has filled much of my life 🌍, but I'm not so much the adventurer type. I'm more interested in understanding people's lifestyles and struggles. Global development and inequality concern me deeply ❤️.
I'm a language nerd and Turkish is my favorite 🇹🇷. I also enjoy chatting in German, and studied Russian at university.
Philosophy, particularly Stoicism, shapes my life 🧘♂️, and I consider myself an aspiring rationalist 🔎. I prefer investigating ideas to debating them, always seeking to understand the world and its truths 🌐.
I'm intrigued by politics and geopolitics 🏛️, and depending on your perspective, I could be classified as leftist, center-left, or from an American viewpoint, possibly radical left.
That's a bit about me. Looking forward to meeting you! 😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I hopped on the Couchsurfing train way back in 2010 🚂. As a longtime user, I've always been a big fan of the philosophy behind this community 🌍.
Fast forward to now, life's changes have left me with an apartment 🏢 bigger than I need - a spare room 🛏️ and an extra bathroom 🚽. It felt right not to let this space go to waste, especially when I love meeting new people 🤝.
Sometimes, I admit, I can be too lazy to head out to bars 🍻. So, having travelers come to me works perfectly! Plus, I know how important it is for budget travelers to find a comfortable place to stay 🎒. And I can safely say, my apartment is a quality choice for that!
Being part of the Couchsurfing community also means I get to meet people of different ages and backgrounds 🌈. Even as I stride into my 30s, I still value the fresh perspectives these interactions bring.
Internationalism is something I strongly stand for 🌐. I believe in breaking down borders, in people from different cultures, languages, and nations meeting and learning from each other 🤝. I've seen the beauty of this through the growth of the European Union and programs like Erasmus, which have done wonders to diminish nationalist and conservative sentiments 🇪🇺.
These initiatives are proof that cooperation between diverse cultures can flourish in a wonderful way, and I cherish this spirit immensely. So, in essence, being on Couchsurfing is an extension of this belief, and I'm excited to continue being part of it! 😊
Interests
I work as an online French teacher 🇫🇷🍎 and I've developed a unique conversational method to make language learning more interactive and enjoyable. In addition, I'm a coach for fellow online language teachers, helping them kickstart their careers, grow their brand, and ultimately, make a living teaching online 💻.
Ethics and philosophy, particularly utilitarianism, are areas that I find quite intriguing 🧐. I consider myself a pursuer of rationality, always aiming to understand the world better, identify and challenge cognitive biases. If you're into this, check out LessWrong - it's a great resource 🧠.
My love for knowledge doesn't stop there. Science, be it sociology, psychology, medicine, biology, or astrophysics, captivates me 🧪🔬🩺🔭.
Of course, being a language enthusiast, I absolutely adore exploring new languages 🗺️. I also have a soft spot for stand-up comedy 🎭. There's something incredibly enjoyable about crafting funny stories, engaging in playful banter, and just having a good laugh 😄.
I'm down for deep conversations 🌊, but I can equally enjoy light-hearted, shallow chats 🦆. So, whether you want to ponder life's big questions or just joke around, I'm game!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been travelling 🧳 around for a few years now. Most of the time, I travel alone and I love living abroad 🌍. I take my time to really soak in the vibe of a new city 🌆.
I've experienced bone-chilling -30° temperatures while studying in Russia 🥶🇷🇺.
I lived in an incredibly luxurious flat 🏰 in Budapest for a year, at a rate that was twice as cheap as my student room 🎓.
I embraced the challenge of cold showers 🚿 every morning for 78 days in a row.
I visited the Chernobyl area in Ukraine 🇺🇦.
I reveled in the white nights of St Petersburg in July, when the sun never sets ☀️🌃.
I've lived with people from Germany, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Poland and Russia, discovering interesting habits from different cultures 🌍
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach 📚:
Effective conversation techniques for learning a new language quickly 🌍
The basics of vegan cooking 🌱🍽️ (It's not as complicated as it seems!)
And of course, some French, if you're interested 🇫🇷 (Though, I'm usually more comfortable speaking English, unless your French is really good 😉)
Learn 🎓:
I'm eager to hear about your experiences 🗣️. I love learning from people who are introspective and open about their lives.
If you're into psychology or meditation, let's definitely dive into those topics 🧠🧘♀️.
Share 🔄:
I'd be thrilled to show you around Budapest, my current city 🇭🇺🌆.
Let's exchange stories, ideas, and maybe a few laughs along the way 😄.
What I Can Share with Hosts
With my hosts, I would love to share my eclectic mix of interests and experiences 🌈:
My passion for languages 🌍. Let's exchange words in our native tongues or even practice a new language together!
I can introduce you to the world of stand-up comedy 🎤. Maybe you'd enjoy one of my shows, or even just writing and sharing jokes.
As a bit of a gym newbie, I can share the excitement and challenges that come with starting a fitness journey 🏋️♂️.
If you're interested, I'd happily share insights from my work as an online French teacher and coach for language teachers 🇫🇷💻.
I can guide you through some vegan cooking adventures, showing you that it can be both simple and delicious 🌱🍽️.
I would love to discuss philosophy, ethics, rationality, and our understandings of the world 🌐. From stoicism to utilitarianism, I'm always ready for a good, deep conversation.
We can share our views on politics and global development, always with an open mind and respect for each other's perspectives 🌐🤝.
And of course, let's share stories of our travels, our homes, and our cultures. I'm eager to learn from you just as much as I am to share with you 🗺️🛤️.
In the end, I believe that the best part of Couchsurfing is the chance to learn from each other, to challenge our own views, and to grow together. Whether it's over a shared meal, a walk around Budapest, or a night of banter and deep talks, I'm excited for all the memories we can create 🙌🚀.
