About Me

I'm 26 years old student, acttually I'm working in a research for my thesis in Anthropology, in a working-class neighborhood Milan. Recently I've take part to a collective documentary project about urban interculture.
I am a calm and curious guy. Nice too, but also biting and ironic, as my friends sometimes said (when they wanted to be really honest with me).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to discover and feel the "otherness"... Whatever this word means, I think only participating in important life experiences someone can discover: coachsurfing can be one of those.
And knowing the others, through and with other people, I can reinvent myself, opening and shaking my point of view.

In Scotland I was hosted fir the first time, it was a great experience of shared knowledge, visions and passions.
So I decided that I've to continue, because, simply, every host represent a new world to meet.

Interests

As "cultural products", I can say indipendent movies, music, mainly electronic and "world" music, graphic novels, cyberculture and philosophy, graffiti and urban art. Actually I'm practising with photography and video recording/production.

I love dancing, exchanging ideas (even political), playing football and basketball, walking in natural reserves and mountains, try new recipes and "ethnic" cuisine, explore spaces of cultural production, especially if grassroots.
When I'm in new places I always want to discover what is important for the local people, socially and culturally: practices, passions, recipes and habit, memories and histories, rituals, parties and festivals, hangouts, symbolic places...

Music, Movies, and Books

What a love in "art world" it's so difficult to say, it change time to time, it depends on people with whom I'm sharing my lifetime, my trajectories of research, the places where I'm living...

I'll pick just some pieces (important for different reasons) for category, and I'll change it, time to time:

Movies: "Akira" (dir. Katsuhiro Otomo) and "Adele" (dir. Abdellatif Kechiche)
Music: "Yesterday and Today" (The Field album); Vampisoul, Mojo and Trojan collections; And, generally, good dance music in self-organized parties
Books: "The Simulacra" (Philiph Dick), "The Stranger" (Albert Camus) and "Discipline and Punish" (Foucault)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Time ago, I have had to wait a train all the night long in Venice, because I lost the last night train. I spent all of the night chatting with three homelesses, simply because we were seated in the same step of the same station staircase. At the beginning I was little bit worried, and actually only one of them was sober enough to speak with me, but finally I realized that was an extraordinary experience. I accessed to an unique vision of Venice, at the margins of the tourist life that had colonized that city.

Teach, Learn, Share

Some good musical tips, a basketball lesson, a workshop of italian recipes (tiramisù, melanane alla parmigiana, pasta alla carbonara...) but not only (I love to cooke spanish tortilla, and falafel or hummus), a photographic session in the citylife. But those are only ideas... And I've a lot to learn. Play an instrument, for example.
