About Me

ABOUT ME

My friends tell me that I am: Sassy, quirky, opinionated. Funny. A loyal and dependable friend. Easy going, "artistic". Organized but not obsessively. Curious...in behaviour and attitude and as the object of observation. Cheerful. Gluttonous. Reserved. Outgoing.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm Daoist and try to practice compassion, humility and economy. With varying degrees of "success". ä¸

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in life. Breathe in and out. Go about greeting my fellows - buying and (occasionally) selling. Socializing. Peering. Listening. Discussing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far - just joined. DID write regrets to a lady in CHINA! Looking for digs for her son and his friends.

Interests

What grabs my attention is the thing closest at hand. I make art and I am a writer so EVERYthing is interesting. I love to eat and cook. I'm wireless and gorge on Netflix. I teach T'ai Chi Chih. I roam the beaches. Every once in a while I stay in my robe for a whole day and live on FroYo and fruit and don't answer the phone. What can I tell you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie-wise there's nothing much coming out of Hollywood that justifies a half hour drive to the multiplex and five dollars plus a meal. So I indulge in Netflix which offers a WORLD of Indie and foreign flix. Am currently reading Junot Diaz and Frank Langella (BIG disappointment) and a bio of George Washington as well as "Vol de Nuit". Get the newspapers online. Pretty much listen to silence any more but have a CD collection of Baroque and Romantic and Jazz and "World" music which I MAY convert. No rush.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing moment: my two year old granddaughter running through the house naked except for a feather boa wrapped around her neck and trailing airily. Another one: the recent meteor showers. And the Northern Lights. How about the coast of Maine in late summer?

Teach, Learn, Share

ALWAYS learning (just found out why the sky is bleue. SERIOUSLY.)I have no idea what anyone learns from me - I just kinda throw it all out there.
