ABOUT ME

I'm beyond mid-life and feel like I'm just getting started. There are four special males in my life - Colin (22) and Cameron (19) are my sons and I live with Qassem and his son Moody (10). Colin and Cameron are both in Atlanta (fortunate for me). Qassem is Iraqi and Moody was born in Lebanon. They are refugee immigrants, and became US Citizens 12/2011. I love learning about other cultures. I've had several career positions including programmer, research engineer, weaving shop owner, private high school teacher, real estate broker, personal fitness trainer, lead generator, sales person, renovator, landlord and day trader. That should tell you a lot about me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to start participating in CouchSurfing by opening our home to surfers.

I have attended a local Atlanta meeting and really enjoyed the conversation.

Interests

Currently I am very involved in assisting Moody with 4th grade homework and Qassem with US Civics to prepare for his citizenship exam.

I enjoy music events - chamber music, drum circles and middle eastern dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Depends on the day and my curiosity. Look back at my list of careers and you'll understand I have trouble focusing on specifics. I love music that makes me move or cry, movies that educate me and books with stunning photographs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've dead lifted 325# in a power lifting contest, competed in amature bodybuilding, traveled national parks in a Triumph Spitfire and sat with a Navajo woman to learn rug weaving.
The best events in my life have been simple pleasures like attending concerts and games to see Colin, Cameron and Moody participate in music and sports.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn Arabic, SalesForce app development and to play an instrument. I can teach personal fitness training and about anything on a 4th grade homework level. I want to share love and fun experiences.
