About Me
So I find it pretty hard to write about myself but I'll give it a shot. My name is Tommy, I grew up in Finsbury park in the north of London. I liked London so after school I when to university at Queen Mary, University of London. I was always interested in understanding nature and the universe and what what so I did my degree in Physics. After that I lived in Bristol for three years, a lovely city that I am fond of very much. The last two years I was travelling, I met my girlfriend in america and we have spent some time together. Now I have been living in Leipzig for the past year, where I'm learning German, and aiming to build my home made board game business, while also tutoring physics and maths online, which provides me with a bit of income and I also really enjoy. It also makes it possible for me to travel a bit also. I love the outdoors, beautiful natural scenery and exploring new places. I love meeting new people, just hanging out, being merry and having jokes. While appreciating exciting and lively social environments I also have a deep love for the calm, I always come back to regular meditation and yoga as a grounding. I recently have gotten really into rockclimbing which has become some what of a passion of mine now. I love all kinds of music and play piano, guitar and didgeridoo. I'm looking to do a PhD at some point time on my own research project in Toy Universe Representative Cellular Automata, which is something I am working on right now, and have published two papers so far. I think that everyone has a story to tell and I love finding out about them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started couch surfing for the first time in america and had a great experience and met some really cool people. Since then I've been a bit off it for the past two years but I'm back to it. I think it's really a fantastic way to meet new people, and learn more about the place that you're visiting. I think that there is something so truly human, and simple, about couch surfing that it really appeals to me.
Interests
I've always been fascinated with understanding the world around me and so studied theoretical physics at university. I like to try and understand things from all directions so I also am also very interested with eastern mysticism and practice vipassana mediation and yoga almost regularly. Besides this though I love socializing and having great experiences. I like finding Games, Board games, Chess. Walks. Having camp fires. Music festivals, going to see live music. Playing instruments, making music, jamming. Creative Writing. My own research project, cellular Automatas. Science, and unconventional science research. Exploring the natural world, finding cool spots, swimming and jumping off big rocks into water. Inventing abstract strategy games. Things that people practice to become good at, I can sometimes become obsessed try to get good at those things. To say a few. As well as recently I've started rock climbing and find it is a really good way to stay active, while also opening up the opportunity to explore beautiful out door places.

Music, Movies, and Books
My Favorite Music, Movies, Books:
I've always had a fond love of classical music, Vivaldi, Bach, Dvorak, Beethoven but I also like chilled music like Air and Zero 7, also like a lot of 60s music, like Creedence Clear-Water Revival, Canned Heat, The Doors. Besides that I like some (panda) dub and reggae eekamouse, really keen on lots of different folk Johnny Flynn. Electronica. Hip hop. Ok I like lodes of music from lodes of different genres, I tend to pick out very specific songs that I like from genres. I've got a great youtube play list that I love dearly, always keen to show people different music I like and finding out new music, got lodes of artists written down. My 10 top movies of all time include: The Lion King, Human Traffic, Shawshank Redemption, The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers, Spinal Tap, Monty Pythons 'Life of Brian', Pinapple Express, Inglorious Bastards, Pulp Fiction, The Matrix. I'm reading a few German books at the moment, don't read much english books, but I'm always open to good suggestions. I've very into documentaries. I might change my mind about this choice at some point, these were just the ones I could think of.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was fifteen I came up with a theory of the universe that lead to the development of a Cellular Automata which is showing signs of emergent behaviour similar to that of our universe.
Teach, Learn, Share
So I'm a tutor in physics and maths up to university level and so would be happy to teach anything from that if you want to, or need some help with some work. If you just want to chat about quantum physics and general relativity and weird new theories about the nature of reality I would be more than happy to do that. I know piano, and some guitar so I can teach and play that too. If you are interested in learning some programming I'm pretty fluent in Mathematica and a bit in C++, also I know a bit of how to use C# for coding games in unity. I also have some meditation techniques and yoga positions and techniques I can share if people are interested. I am always keen to cook meals, got a few good recepes, for anyone who keeps me as there guest. If I've got the right ingredients I can make a tasty tia curry, but my specialty are my scrambled eggs, which are actually the best in the world. I've learnt alot from eating communally, and a few friends who are really good cooks, so I can also make Sheppard's pie, breakfast lasagne, dumpling soup, pasta bakes, roasts, veggie burgers, wraps, sushi, all sorts of stuff. I love learning about new music, I can teach people games I've learnt, car games, word games and board games, group games, drinking games. Love playing chess, as well as learning new games.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Besides all the teaching stuff, I'm happy to cook meals, and generally help out. If people are looking for someone to help them with some manual work, gardening or DIY, I can definitely help out. For example I just finished staying with my cousin and to say thank you I helped them install their dog fence so their dog could run around the garden freely. I love discussing ideas and sharing knowledge.
