CURRENT MISSION

Currently on a year long round the world trip. I am absolutely determined to see the best in people and feel that the only way to do that is by talking!!

ABOUT ME

I am an intense thinker. Not that I am vastly intelligent or academic, I just think way too much. My imagination runs away with me and if I get an idea, however large or small, I cannot sleep or rest easy until I have done everything in my power to do something about it.

At the moment that is quite difficult as my fiance and I are on a round the world adventure. I can wake up one morning and think to myself, 'we aren't doing enough' or 'we should be going there!!'. So instead of enjoying this once in a lifetime journey, my consantly running imagiination has me in another place before we have even got there!

That said, I am a confident, happy and passionate guy. I love writing (which is something I want to pursue when back in the UK), music (I adore The Smiths), cooking and food (I will cook for you!), travel (my ultimate passion), football (I support a pathetically bad second division team called Nottingham Forest, running (my daily release) and daydreaming, amongst other things.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone should have the same opportunities in life, irrespective of where they are born. We are all human beings and share exactly the same characteristics in the sense that we all strive for happiness. Some of us have had pain and sadness inflicted upon us and some of us have had the privelage of a life without sadness. Everyone though must realise the sanctity of life and what a beautiful thing it is.

My brother died of cancer five years ago and not a day goes by when I dont think about it and why it happened. The positive thing to come from it was that life HAS to be lived. To extract every piece of juice from that orange (strange metaphor I know). I hope you see what I mean!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are novices. First timers that really want to try it out and make some long lasting friends who we can return the favour for back in the UK. So we can show you the real England that is outside of London! Cant wait to host people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as of yet, but we are lovely, warm people who just need a little helping hand around the world so we can appreciate the beauty of what is before us. And to make some lifelong friends! Although we were celebrating New Year in Berlin and the couchsurfers were having a big party below our hostel which we joined and had a great night. Awesome people!

Travel, writing, music, cooking, food, meeting new people, festivals, reading, politics, football, running, sightseeing, wine!, a really cold beer, the English countryside on a rare summers day, making friends all around the world, living life too the maximum, helping the poor and unfortunate, debating, listening to an amazing album in a new and strange country on repeat then listening to it a few years later and the music takes you right back to that town or city. Lovely.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

So many over the past five months since we left for our RTW trip but camping on Koh Rok, just to the south of Koh Lanta on Thailand and waking up for sunrise was magical.

I know sometimes degrees mean nothing, I'm not trying to say that mine is any different, but I have a degree in Politics and I love the subject. I am a passionate guy and love a good debate. I am also a good cook and like to think that I can show people how to cook some fantastic food! I am passionate about the UK, I know it has its fair share of problems and people are scrambling to leave but it is beautiful and our food really is something to shout about.
