Overview
About Me
Hi all! I'm Tommy, and I'm traveling the world. I was born and raised in sunny Southern California. I attended university at Chico State, where I studied history, European studies, and philosophy. I briefly attended law school at Santa Clara University, but decided to be young and adventurous instead. I now live in Budapest, Hungary, where I help send Europeans to summer camps in the United States. During the Summer, I work at a summer camp in the surf city of Santa Cruz, California, and live life to the fullest!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because of the wonderful stories I have heard from people who share in the experience of staying with people, instead of standard hostels. I have been fortunate enough to be a "local" in many interesting cities, and I'd like to meet those same kinds of people in the cities I'd like to explore.
Interests
I love meeting new people, sunshine, snowboarding, music, playing guitar, reading books, watching movies, exploring new cities, learning new languages, and making new friends from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book series, hands down, is Harry Potter. Next up must be Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. I also enjoy the classics, and I devour non-fiction as well! My favorite non-fiction book is A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. I love music, but I can't pick my favorite. I'm currently in the mood for some Hall and Oates. My favorite movies consist of over the top action movies, and comedies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 10 years old, I was a member of a large children's choir in Los Angeles, and we were invited to come all the way to the Vatican to sing for the Pope for the new millennium mass. So, I've been hand picked to sing for a Pope before!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching is my profession (sort of). At camp I teach guitar, swimming, and any other children's activity you can imagine. Except horseback riding. I really have no idea how to do that. So far I have lived in California, Italy, and Hungary, and I have picked up some excellent cooking skills from each. I would love to share my passion for activities, and for the cultures I have adopted along the way!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my sense of humor, my sense of adventure, and a few good travel stories that are sure to make you smile. And if you are in need of a good American style breakfast, or an over the top Italian feast, I will not disappoint!
