About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore and find a place I can call 'home' (like most people) and conduct research

ABOUT ME

Not much to say really. I am a PhD student (Politics) at the University of Melbourne currently on fieldwork trip in Europe. Fell in love with Lisboa and am working on a way to get back there to live.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't regret anything, your experiences make you who you are. This is pretty cheesy, but has served me well since I figured it out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am still working on this and plan to make contact with some people in the places I am visiting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing that rates a mention at the moment (that I can remember), other than mooching a couch at a friends house after a night on the beers. Also looking to do some serious surfing upon return to Melbourne when am penniless and homeless, just hope my friends are ready.

Interests

Running (when I have time and shoes)
Conducting interviews (this is partly dictated by current situation), is really interesting to just listen to what people have to say, transcribing is not so much fun
Travel (obviously), started late, but now have the bug
Writing

  • writing
  • beer
  • running
  • politics
  • traveling
  • surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

The Big Lebowski
Fight Club
Eternal Sun of the Spotless Mind
What Becomes of the Broken Hearted

Fugazi, Cat Power, Gillian Welch among others

Reading finished reading George Orwell's collected novels, difficult to get into, but worth the effort

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is nothing that really springs to mind. I guess if there is one thing that surprised me recently it would be the way I fell instantly in love with Lisbon on a recent visit. This was a little unsettling, as it happened so suddenly. Guess I have been subconsciously searching for a place to call 'home' for some time and that place really got a grip of me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Hungary, Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
