Travelling is my favourite thing, although that's hardly surprising to read considering that this is Couchsurfing.. I started with an exchange in Thailand in 2005 and haven't been able to stop yet. My last trip was for four months last year to India, Iran, Turkey, Israel and Palestine, and it was phenomenal.
Right now I work at a wine shop and will start studying to be a teacher in February. Hopefully my friend and I can host a few surfers at our place before we get too busy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's one of the greatest websites ever. Think of the friendships and great experiences wouldn't exist without it.. I've surfed on a few couches and hosted some people too with my friend, and it's always been positive. Hosting is kind of like travelling without leaving your city, and seeing it in a different way through the eyes of the people you're showing around. Plus you tend to learn a lot, so it benefits everyone, not just the person getting a place to stay.
I like a variety of sports - football, cricket, indoor beach volleyball, bodyboarding, going to the gym, and I ran a half marathon last year that almost killed me - plus more relaxing things like reading, watching movies, good wine and being addicted to TV series. And planning trips..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was lucky enough to get into the old American embassy in Tehran, where the events from 'Argo' happened. Things had been left as they were since 1979. Possibly the coolest thing I've seen while travelling.
Teach, Learn, Share
I did an English teaching course so I'm OK with that, but haven't had much experience yet. I can also give wine tastings where I work so you can taste some of our local stuff.
I'm vegan too, so if you're vegetarian or vegan I can show you where to get good food, since it's not always easy to find.
I'd love to learn some of the language of the places I go and people I host, so if you love language that would be a great thing to exchange. Also the history, politics, anything interesting about your country, I want to know it!
