About Me

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student, trying to make the world a better place one (technological) solution at a time.
I'm on the quest of knowing more today than yesterday and often I'm just left standing in awe how beautiful this world is and works. I'm interested in a gazillion of things and want to try out even more, which often leaves me not being able to decide what to tackle first.
In between that I like to cook, dance, play music, talk, watch movies, but also to have some time on my own to read good books and meditate.
Travelling will always be a passion of mine. Having done lot of trips within Europe and the United States, a gap-year in Australia and New Zealand as well as an exchange semester in Bangalore, India, I'm somewhat of a seasoned traveller. But there's always more to see and to discover and once you start you'll never get enough of it. Yep, that's me. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it's not like meeting strangers but rather like old friends you haven't seen in a while.
The amount of support and trust in each other from the very start is amazing!

To make a point one of my very first Couchsurfing experiences was this:
Being totally fucked up at Seoul Airport with nothing but five euros and five days to go/survive until my flight goes home.
This Korean couchsurfer saved me by picking me up at a metro station in the city, arranging a meeting with another German couchsurfer who lent me some money and by offering so much hospitality.
I mean I've never met her before and yet she treated me like an old friend. And this was not the only experience of that kind. The community is great, that's why I'm on Couchsurfing.

Interests

Music - I'm playing the french horn in an orchestra and a combo as well as the guitar a little bit. Furthermore I like to go to concerts, festivals and live music events.
Sport - mainly football, skiing, trekking, surfing, (beach-)volleyball and bouldering
Travels - Loads of trips within Europe, ie Croatia, Austria, Spain, Denmark etc. And finally my first overseas trip to Australia and New Zealand as well as a roadtrip through Florida and an exchange semester in Bangalore, India. I love to explore new places.

Apart from that I'm interested in a manifold of things like cooking, ecology and sustainability, nuclear fusion, rapid prototyping, parcour, simple minimalistic design, agriculture, ...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - a lot of bands mainly playing rock, alternative, indie or somewhat in between, also jazz and a bit of electronic stuff
Movies - Inception, Star Wars, Zombieland, Django Unchained, ... but I'm not a big buff on series except for Archer and Rick and Morty.
Books - mostly books to learn new things. For fiction I mostly go to Frank Schätzung and George Orwell, but I've recently also tackled Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged'.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doing the highest Skydive in the whole world, jumping out of a plane in a height of 19,000 feet over Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand!! Just AWESOME! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll happily explain anything I'm interested in or I know, for example the energy system in Germany, how nuclear fusion works and what I think of it, how to cook traditional Bavarian potato-dumplings, how to repair your bicycle, how to play brass instruments, how to do traditional Bavarian dance, how to meditate or what the best beers are in Germany/Bavaria/Munich.

I'm also always keen to learn more, so that I'll be able to share more. ;)
I'm interested in pretty much anything someone is willing to teach me, e.g. other languages(e.g. French, Spanish, Italian, etc.), surfing, flying an airplane, sailing, martial arts(like jiujitsu etc.), foreign cultures, beliefs and religions, cuisine, guitar, carpenting, fishing etc....

Australia, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
