Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Tom, from Arnhem, the Netherlands. I was born in Zeven, Germany and raised in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
After high school I made the first big trip on my own, to Colombia for four months. I learned Spanish, just basic however, and well, most importantly, to take care of myself. After Colombia I have been to certain different countries in the world, loving being in new cultures and experiencing different things than that I always have been used to.
Nowadays, I live in Antwerp (for eight years already actually), after having studied Environmental Sciences in Breda. I am an sustainability coordinator for an awesome company, and really like going to football matches in different cities in the Netherlands. Besides work, I like having drinks in a bar, or be at home watching Netflix.
However I have never hosted before, I know a lot of people who did, and of course people that have hosted me. Since I have a place for myself now, I would really like to share my place with people that like to experience my country as it really is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The first time I experienced Couchsurfing was when I made my trip to Colombia. Couchsurfing then was a way to get in touch with the 'real' Colombian people, and the way they lived their lives. Because of Couchsurfing I actually got that experience. Since I recently moved to a new place, I figured that it would be a great opportunity to start Couchsurfing again, but now by returning the favor and offer people a place to stay!

Music, Movies, and Books
This actually changes a lot. Music depends a lot on my mood. The movies I like most are Superbad and The Hangover. I like to laugh, and I think those movies are hilarious. My favorite book is a Dutch book called 'De Don',
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Scuba diving with Manta Rays in Raja Ampat. Among 1000 other things.
Teach, Learn, Share
Since I studied Environmental Sciences, and I'm really interested in the environment, and the future of our planet, I think that will be an interesting subject to talk about. Then, there is a lot to learn. One thing that I am really curious about it mindfulness and meditation, something I saw first on a trip, and I really found interesting.
