About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, explore, and live.

ABOUT ME

Last autumn I finished my masters in particle physics at University College London. I am now hoping to travel the world before I (hopefully!) start a PhD in Sept. 2015.
I am 23 years old. Apart from a brief period in the US, I've lived in a small village in south England until I was 18, when I moved to London.

PHILOSOPHY

"I was born not knowing, and had very little time to change that." - Richard Feynman

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I have not participated! But everyone needs to start somewhere. I lived in London as a student for four years, hence if anyone wishes to know some great places to check out, message me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the world of couch surfing!

Interests

I've played the guitar for 12 years (mostly blues, jazz and classical) and the blues harmonica for six years.
Obviously, I love physics and especially quantum physics: you would be mad to do a masters in it, if you didn't love it! I am particularly interested in the group theory langauge under lying it, and how these mathematical languages trap us into "language-games" with the natural world. I.e. the famous wave-particle duality problem.
My favorite way of idling away time is just hanging out with people in a cafe and just chatting about what we are interested in: sharing knowledge with artists, philosophers and anyone that has learned a different subject area.

Music, Movies, and Books

Here's a list of some books, albums and movies I think are great. They're not necessarily my favorite, just ones that came to mind when I was writing this.

Books: Howard's End (E. M. Forster), Coming up for Air (George Orwell), The Outsider (Albert Camus), Not Even Wrong (Peter Woit), How the Dead Live (Will Self), NW (Zadie Smith), Steppenwolf (Herman Hesse).

Music: Internal Affairs (Pharoahe Monch), The Great Escape (Blur), Violin Sonata 1 (Bach), Blue Valentines (Tom Waits), Strangeways Here we Come (The Smiths), The Seasons (Tchaikovsky).

Teach, Learn, Share

If anyone is interested in quantum mechanics or quantum field theory, I am happy to talk about it!
