About Me

CURRENT MISSION

LEGOLAND CONQUEST

ABOUT ME

I graduated about a year ago and have completed a bit of traveling in that time. Just moved to the Bay Area. Still find my way. Hopefully, I will be able to host soon.

PHILOSOPHY

To have as much fun as possible in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After surfing on many couches in Europe, I would love to give back to the community by hosting. I was waiting to get my own place before I started hosting, but I figure I should do it as long as I'm capable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During the summer of 2011, I hitchhiked and couchsurfed around Western Europe. It was enormously fun and probably the best experience of my life. I met so many interesting people and saw so many cool places. I had this adventure with a dear friend of mine. You can see our shared account here.

Interests

Hitchhiking. If you're a hitchhiker, I can guarantee you a place to stay (so long as my schedule will allow it). I really like baking bread. I spent a a couple of weeks in Germany working at a small village bakery. Lovely experience. Wonderful bread. I so miss that bread ;_; So, I'm trying to learn how to bake.Movies. I love watching movies. You've got an interesting film you want to suggest? Please do!

Music, Movies, and Books

Neil Gaiman's book are always great. I'm also a fan of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Other favorites are Ender's Game, A Brave New World, and Guns, Germs, and Steel. I like reading, but don't do enough of it.
Most recent books:
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
Collapse by Jared Diamond.

I like to watch cartoons :) As an animation major, I'm definitely not afraid to admit that. I like The Venture Bros, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, motherfuckin' Adventure Time!, Futurama, and lots of 90's cartoons from Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Other TV includes Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Dexter, Game of Thrones, and The Wire.

Favorite movie is definitely Wall-E. Maborosi comes as a pretty close second. In addition, I love all three Indiana Jones movies, Hot Fuzz, Groundhog Day, Dawn of the Dead, The Incredibles, all three Toy Stories, Ratatouille, One Wonderful Sunday, Tokyo Story, Children of Men...Okay, this list goes on for a while. Lets just say I'm always open to watching new movies or old ones. As long as the company is good.

My favorite band is the Decemberists. And I really love Neutral Milk Hotel. Also a fan of The Gorillaz, The Mountain Goats, and MGMT. Currently, I've been listening to Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Woodkid, The Protomen, Voltaire, The XX, and Katzenjammer, and The National.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've worked at a camel riding school in Austria. It was at the end of a hitchhiking trip and we spent three months telling everyone that we were going to learn how to ride camels in Austria. I think lots of people thought we were being hoaxed. Jokes on them though, I'm now certified in camel care :)

Working at a German bakery was also pretty awesome.

One time, we made a friend in Amsterdam because we slept on his stoop and blocked his doorway. That was fun :)

I've biked from Detriot to Rochester in eight days. One day, I hope to bike across the country.

I admit that I'm young and inexperienced in the ways of world. Hopefully, my path through life will be full of more exciting experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh geez. I don't have many practical skills. Perhaps some hitchhiking tips? We can also learn how to bake some bread.
