Overview
About Me
Sometimes, I forget to say please. But I never forget to say thank you. I’m goofy sometimes but always smart about my decisions. I’m curious but I know it could kill me so I’m good at observing.
My last name being Cooks makes everyone assume that I’m a superhero chef during the night, but it’s true... I make the best eggs, sandwiches, chicken, and meatloaf. I would love how to master Jamaican and Chinese cuisine, they are my 2nd and 3rd favorites behind Southern American.
I love to dance. There is not a genre of music I don’t dance to (my friend once called me out for dancing to elevator music). Music is my saving grace, always there for me during my highest highs and lowest lows. I hope to one day make people feel like they have a friend when listening to my music. Nobody deserves to be alone, even if they’re by themselves.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to get the real deal experience when I go somewhere. I don’t enjoy just being a tourist, I want to feel like a local. Since I am seriously considering moving to Chicago, IL, Couchsurf gives me the chance to make real friends and get real advice from people who know Chicago. I know that everyone has valuable perspectives on life and I love to soak it up!

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie of all time is Friday (Ice Cube and Chris Tucker). I know all of the words like I know the words to Lil Wayne or Tupac’s music. I enjoy pop artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. Jazz is my second favorite behind rap music, it just makes me feel real good deep down.
I tend to read a lot of sci-fi and urban fiction, but I love self help books by people like Joyce Meyer and Devon Franklin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Spain on my own when I was 20. I didn’t know anyone there except a host I met online. I got robbed and harassed, but it was one of the greatest times of my life. It was then that I knew AND believed I could do anything I put my mind to!
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m just trying to get through life like everyone else :) sharing my struggles, I hope to teach people to be more compassionate and understand of others in the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can fry chicken like nobodies business. I can stay up all night talking about the earth not being flat, or get up way early for Sunday school before service. I love organizing clothing for some odd reason, lol, and I can bargain shop like my mom. I’m the one that eats my snacks before the register and so it always looks like I’m buying rubbish 😂
