Overview
About Me
Hi, my name' s Tony - an Irishman (a young 41) who plays a bit of guitar and likes travelling, meeting new people, all while seeing the world beyond the confines of hotel compounds and tourist hotspots. I am currently travelling in the US, moving cross country from the Florida area and heading West. From here I head South to Guatemala. And I'm doing it on a budget! I post a blog too - Wayward - there's one up there already. So I can spread word of your generosity far and wide!

Looking forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Budgetary concerns really. I am travelling in the US and it is expensive! Also, I want to meet people who actually live in the towns and countryside I'm passing through. It makes the journey more meaningful.

Music, Movies, and Books
Folk, Funk, Rock and Country, Jazz, Soul and Hip Hip - I love it all. Not to mention Afrobeat, Latin, Trad Irish, Flamenco......
Books - well, I'm a reader but Kerouac, Hemingway, Woody Guthrie's Paths of Glory are pertinent right now...
Right now what comes to mind is Paul Newman in the Hustler (1960 I believe). But that's because I just played pool in Key West...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've lived in London, Germany, Spain, as well as Ireland East and West.
I have travelled through South America. I have been to Tanzania in East Africa.
I have been an actor, a newspaper reporter, a charity worker, played drums in a band. I have lived as a property guardian in a former mental hospital (I repeat 'former' mental hospital) with a small community of other like minded souls. I have been a barman, a piano mover and a youth advocate, as well as a teacher of English to Chinese nurses. I also don't read questions correctly -I just noticed I was to write ONE amazing thing. Screw it, I don't like the delete button.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my experiences and my good counsel.
I may be a teacher but I am always learning too - I think we all have these skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Music? Good times? The price of a meal? Whatever your stipulations are, if I can, I am amenable...
