Ton Pijpers started his professional career in 1986 as an employee/advisor Administrative Organization (AO), innovation advisor and (financial) controller in the Dutch social security sector (SFB/GAK, now UVW). Ton has worked in social security for a total of 10 years. In the years 1996-2011 Ton has been working as an external advisor, managementconsultant, project leader, program manager, interimmanager and trainer/coach at the French/Dutch company Atos. In total Ton has 25 years of international experience in (ICT-)consultancy, program management, project management and interim management in Europe. Ton was in charge of several ICT-implementation projects and other innovation projects.

Experience in South-America
In the period 2011-2022 Ton worked with Assuria N.V., the no. 1 insurance company in Suriname, in the role of Policy Administration Manager (2011-2018) and Claims Manager Medical (2018-2022). On 01-05-2022 Ton retired at the age of 62. As a Staff member in the 10 years of Assuria, Ton participated in many management training courses, including project management, ITIL and Business Continuity Management. It is also worth noting that in 2011/2012 Ton was involved in setting up the greenfield operation Assuria Guyana. Therefor he had to deal with the requirements of the commissioner (Central Bank of Guyana) in the context of the insurance license.
In 2011 Ton co-founded the Surinam based Institute of Management and Information Technology (IMIT). This non-profit Institute focusses on bachelor programs for ICT professionals with the objective to boost the development of ICT awareness and ICT knowledge in Suriname. Ton has the following roles within the IMIT organization: lecturer, board member, chairman of the Examination Committee.
