About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Improve the quality and break the boundaries of education in the developing world. Experience as much as possible of this small world we are given together with my wife.

ABOUT ME

First I am a learner, then I am a teacher, and finally I am a ravenous explorer of all places off the trail.

PHILOSOPHY

We are but motes upon a tiny speck of dust in the universe, and it is on that dust we call Earth that we have the solemn responsibility to see as many places and meet as many people as we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My wife and I are in-between places, but looking forward to hosting once we have a place of our own!

We are not really into hotels or resorts or anything of that nature, we find them fantastically boring... We love to engage, meet, and experience local culture and people, and we're really excited to do so via couchsurfing.

We are very fluent in Southeast Asia, so we would love to share knowledge of this area and inspire anyone else who can to visit!

Interests

Aspiring polyglot and habitual starer at the water and the sky. I read in the spaces where I am idle and am idle in many of the places that others typically enjoy

  • books
  • dining
  • movies
  • reading
  • traveling
  • camping
  • astronomy
  • history
  • languages
  • beaches

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Carried camping gear in bags on a piece of wood and swam to different islands in the Aegean, slept on beaches under the stars.

Teach, Learn, Share

1) Half as much stuff, twice as much money
2) Find six things you buy a month that you can do without, and place that money in a travel fund
3) Try and spend an extended period of time in a city of interest so that you can meet people and feel the rhythm of life
4) Half the things you're scared of are statistically harmless, and half the things you aren't are statistically dangerous - that goes for traveling too!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
