About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to share experiences with as many people as possible on my journeys :)
ABOUT ME
I love to travel! I am fortunate to work in the field of international education (I run a university study abroad program and work with schools and students worldwide) so I get to encourage young people to explore the world every day. I finished a doctoral program in business/marketing through an Australian university in 2012, and in 2013 I moved back to the US from Aachen, Germany, where I was teaching at a university and telecommuting for my US-based job.
I am a responsible and somewhat quiet person (until I get to know you and then I am definitely a talker), as well as an easy-going and low maintenance traveler. I'm not really a partier and don't necessarily enjoy being the center of attention; I'd much prefer a group of friends talking and laughing over a bottle of wine to a huge party or dance club. In addition to travel, which is truly my passion, I also enjoy visiting area wineries, reading, and good coffee with a view.
PHILOSOPHY
Be open minded...share ideas...find the similarities in cultures and appreciate the differences
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been fortunate to have some amazing CS experiences as a surfer and as a host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS has been a great discovery for me! I surfed relatively frequently when I lived abroad for 4 months. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many new people on my journeys...the people are what make travel experiences so memorable! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Growing up as a farmer's daughter in a rural part of the US, I was overwhelmed the first time I traveled abroad and saw things that I thought I'd only ever see in a book. There have been so many amazing experiences...from ziplining over a rainforest in Costa Rica, to jumping out of a plane in southern Portugal, to a sunrise over Machu Picchu, to seeing the smiles on Cambodian children's faces and watching kids play ball on a playground in Cuba...the list is endless.
