ABOUT ME

I like climbing trees, reading autobiographies, driving to small towns and pretending to be a local, cutting facial features out of magazines, being outdoors, wearing war paint, drawing on my body, watching classic movie channels and playing with my baby hedgehog, Kalu.

Brown hair, green eyes, in grad school, single, I live in Koreatown. I grew up in New Mexico and have a small town mind set. I appreciate spontaneity, experiences, subversion, inbetweens, madness and failure. The entertainment industry can go fuck itself.

I like to make things. Videos, performance events, text scores, music, poetry, non-fiction, memoir. I don't make art for money. I'm not motivated by the American dream; I think the best things in life are free. I'm currently working towards a double MFA in creative writing and music composition. And I'm very open about how I feel and also very descriptive, which comes with the territory.

PHILOSOPHY

I have weird taste; I tend to love and hate the same things, and I use those two words interchangeably.

I try hard not to inhibit my impulsivity. I remind myself every day that it could be my last, and try to waste no time enjoying the present and pursuing the things in life that fascinate me.

I prefer to come to my own conclusions and then research people (philosophers, artists) with similar ideas, instead of doing the reverse. I have strong opinions on a lot of topics, but I'm always open to changing them if I hear a convincing argument.

I really like those big bouncy things that kids sometimes have at birthday parties. And hot tubs.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love meeting and staying with people when I travel, and I'd like to return the favor by having people stay with me. I never wanted to live in Los Angeles, but I wound up here, and actually it's a pretty amazing place. Los Angeles generally gets a bad rap, and I feel that it's my duty as its resident to show off the amazing aspects of it. I'd like to make friends in any and every part of the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't met anyone through this website yet, but I've had many "couchsurfing" experiences. I stayed in Montmartre in Paris for a month with a fellow I barely knew through the internet, and it ended up being an amazing experience. Last month I stayed with a guy in Brooklyn for eight days, and it was also amazing.
