About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am departing the United States in two weeks, spending 2 weeks in Orlando Florida, then I'm off to Amsterdam on an adventure that will end either back in London where I live now; OR end up staying in Amsterdam!!! Im so excited, I love the city.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty positive and outgoing. Im a friendly, fun, extroverted, intelligent guy that seems to have a magnetic personality. I laugh alot. My mind is like a sponge; always wanting to experience and learn new things. Also, a bit of a risk taker, lol. I love my music, computers, gadgets, and obsessed art & architecture. I was in the US Airforce, traveling the world, meeting new people, learning alot of technical skills, and realizing there is a big world out there that I wish more would get to experience. I'm very open-minded, liberal, and interested in many things people might find bizarre. I think I'm a cool guy; very social, friendly, and easy to get along with.

For those who care; my star sign is Leo.

I like to stay active. I have a wonderful little boy named Leo; he's 4 years old, British/American, and lives in England with his mother, who is also British and working for the government.

I had to renew my VISA to stay in England, but there is a ridiculous rule stating that I was required to file my claim from my home state: America. I've been back in America for around 7months; and I know my VISA wont be processed til June now and I dont feel like sticking around in America for another 3months. I've gotten bored too. I decided to head to the Netherlands where I dont need a VISA as an American to live (90day window); and I am close enough to England that all my friends & family living there can come over to see me whenever they want; where ever I'm at. And the way I see it, this gives me a the perfect opportunity to really check out the Netherlands properly; not just a "weekend" tourist thing. Every time I visited Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and a couple others, I always felt a weird connection; like I would be back there one day. It was very interesting and weird. It had the right blend of everything. And there was alot of music, businesses, art, architecture, history, people, restaurants, bars, clubs, schooling, coffee shops, and I love the whole "canal thing"; very unique. For years I wondered if I could make things happen for me there; and would love to live there for good if I could. So, this is my chance.

I planned on getting there, with my survival money; CS & Hostel hop, just for a place to lay my head; as I would be out everyday all day, meeting people, seeing places, looking for business opportunities, import/export connections for the IT industry, music industry, clothing industry, looking for demands, things & people that I could connect to my friends & colleagues in America & England to do things.

See if I can make some long term bridges ....and money at the same time. I want to explore the music scheme a bit more indepth; get into the culture more and do some talent searching for friends I have in the music industry. I know there are people wanting to break into the US & UK music scenes, perform at shows, do gigs, get on tours, get on the radio, or just get their music on shelves in stores. I want to work with people on all levels of music, IT, clothing designers and Artist.

So ready or not; here I come.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that ANYTHING can be done. No matter how ridiculous or outrageous; anything thing you put your mind to can be accomplished. I have a pretty broad range of skills; and I couldnt imagine being anything other than open-minded about life.

Chill; stay grounded & think positive & don't ever doubt you can't do something if you never tried.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am completely new to couch surfing. I only found out about it a few days ago! I own two propertys in London and will definitely get more involved in this program once I am back there! I was talking to a friend of mine prior to me traveling to Amsterdam, and exploring new business, social, and musical opportunities and she mentioned CS during a conversation about CS'ing abroad. This is a fantastic tool for meeting new friends, colleagues, and business associates.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm hoping to have my first CS experience in the next 4 weeks. I touchdown in Amsterdam on 4 April. I was planning to "hotel hop" or "hostel hop" til I decided with I was going to do.

Interests

By day, Im the clean cut, eager, opportunistic businessman, salesman, and secret computer expert; continuously thinking about new and better ways to make money. Searching for any niche' or void in the market. I know that there are so many opportunities, demands, voids, genre's, windows, and personal interest that can be turned into money-making ventures. I'm a self-preservationist; but I like to associate and surround myself with people interesting, quirky, dreamers, musicians, and thinkers. Same focus.I like to enjoy life, but I also realize that in order to get where you want; you have to make things happen on other levels. I love new business ventures and creating something from nothing.

Outside of work. I'm interested in many things. I love music; all types (except country, yuck). Most of my friends and colleagues are in the music business in some way fashion or form; both in America & England. Radio, underground, web, recording & production, DJ'ing, you name it. I also write & record and have an alter-ego, lol. I also have friends in the clothing industry and computer industry. I own a computer and laptop repair shop as well. I like to eat different foods, try different drinks, and experiment. But seafood is by far my favorite.

I also enjoy art. I don't draw as much as I use to but I am naturally talented in drawing; something I inherited from my father who is a professional artist working for The Art Institute of Chicago. This also makes me very interested in photography. It's something I wish I could have more time to do myself; but I like taking and looking at quality pictures.

I LOVE architecture. I'm a bit of a "building freak" lol. Growing up in Chicago was amazing; and there isn't one building I haven't starred at. I enjoy property, tall buildings, old, new, you name it; Im game.

I like living in metropolitan areas. The country side is "ok" temporarily; the fresh air and panoramic fields puts your mind at ease; but I like the hussle-n-bussle city life as well. I feel more comfortable surrounded by people and lights and noise and stores and things happening around me.

I'm pretty open to all music; but I love Ambient/Trance, Jungle, old school Hip-hop, Drum & Bass, Garage, R&B, Jazz, and pretty much any live band or valve-system.

Music, Movies, and Books

Waaaaay to many to name or list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow. I would say the most amazing thing I have done in my life has to be the opportunity to fly a jet. I was in the Air Force for 7 years; and have been able to travel around the world, learn, and experience alot of things; but my accolade is definitely being given the chance to pilot a jet aircraft.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing that I would like to do in the "grand scheme of things"; would be to teach and empower people who have dreams and aspirations; regardless of their social class or income. I would love to open and fund community enrichment programs that would teach people skills. Give people an outlet and make them believe in themselves. Do things that they would normally "pay" or "rely" on other people to do. Learning what I have learned; I know that people can do anything.

As far as learning, I would love to learn another language; especially the Dutch language as I believe the open-minded experimental, liberal way that they think & life has become unique and untainted by what has been going on in the western world; thou, maintaining a current momentum.
