About Me

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."
Marcel Proust

Over the last few years I traveled more than my fair share, I met interesting people from all over the world, experienced increadible hospitality and gained wonderful insights.

I finally had to transition into an adult life, working on a regular job which cuts back on my travel opportunities but I'm still interested in meeting new people and hosting them. so please feel free to write me but it depends on my schedule if I can host you.

Since years I have a t-shirt saying "if everything is under control you are just not fast enough" and although I´m getting older I still like it ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The more you do it, the more you like it ;-)

I started hosting my first surfers in summer 2008 and traveled the US in the following months, using CS extensively. All those people that I meet, thought different in attitude, character and living style have been wonderful hosts and I'm thankful for their kindness. These kind of experiences continued during all my later travels using CS, no matter what continent or country.

Interests

Where to start, where to end? There is hardly any aspect of life that can't draw my attention, the fine art is balancing the various things that interest me with the little time there is, especially considering my sometimes more than 9 to 5 job...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was fortunate enough to travel extensively and had a number of great experiences, either meeting interesting people or seeing wonderful things. So it's kind of impossible for me to boil it down to a few lines in this box. But new years eve in Rio de Janeiro is definitely one of the top things ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share nerdy conversations about econ and politics. Would be happy to learn french and/or russian (but haven't started yet).

cooking is also a perfectly welcomed option ;-)
