ABOUT ME

I'm trying to finally make my biggest dream real: travelling from Tasmania all the way up to Rome, my hometown, overland and without flying. It is a one-year journey (as far as I can tell you now). I'll be travelling by myself and hoping to meet interesting people on the way. This, I'm pretty sure, will happen in any case. Yet, I know that nobody more than a local can tell, explain, show things and places, and thus making you actually experience the atmosphere of a certain environment. This is what I'm looking for, so much more than merely save money for accomodation.

PHILOSOPHY

I have problems in waving flags - I believe the Planet is a Republic.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll be ready to offer my couch once back home. I'm on the road now, and looking for people to share stories with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None at present, but I do have friends who have told me so many stories of people they have been guests of.

兴趣

Good literature, theatre, music, sharing experiences and of course travelling. Most of all, I like talking, discussing, learning.

French cinema is in general my favorite, but many other directors make me think. Woody Allen (especially his early repertoire - Annie Hall, Manhattan, Zelig), Michael Haneke (Hidden), Amos Gitai, Eran Riklis, Theo Angelopoulos (Ulysses'Gaze), Kiarostami among the others.
Music really depends on mood.. I enjoy a great variety of artists, from Metallica to Norah Jones, from folk music to Kings of Convenience and Keb Mo (blues), from Keith Jarret to Yann Tiersen. It's difficult to say, especially because I know that there's so much great music out there I've still never heard of.
Books, again, it means many things at once. I'm a good reader, from classic fiction to history or philosophy books.
