About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the world a safer place for workers everywhere and to make the queer community a better place!
ABOUT ME
I'm a bubbly, energetic, open-minded, queer lady who's always up for making new friends and experiencing new things! I'm also a nerd... the science kind, and that I can strike up a meaningful conversation with nearly anyone!
PHILOSOPHY
Never underestimate what one person is capable of, and remember that when we come together as a community of people we have the power to change the world.
I know I'm lucky to be alive. Born in another time or even another place I know I wouldn't be. I never forget what an incredible gift every day is to me. And I'm so, so grateful for every one I get.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to CouchSurfing, and I'm excited about it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't CouchSurfed or had guests yet, but I did meet up with some couchsurfers a friend was hosting and they were super cool!
Interests
I'm active in the LGBT community. I volunteer with the Queer Community Centre (Pink Triangle Services) here in town as a group facilitator, and I'm also the Parade Coordinator for Capital Pride. I'm an avid skier and swimmer. I also love to dance, swing dancing in particular... but I love to dance at nightclubs, too. My lifelong love is cooking and aside from a few allergies I am game to try anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I love comedies... sometimes even trashy ones. Zoolander, Mean Girls, Super Troopers, Night at the Roxbury, and Superbad are all in my collection. I'm also a big fan of documentaries.
Books: my collection is dominated by books about the history of science, feminism and queer theory, food anthropology, and vintage Nancy Drew mystery novels (which are my ultimate guilty pleasure).
Music: My tastes are rather pedestrian. I enjoy dance music, top 40s, and pop. I also LOVE big band music from the 30's, 40's, and 50's (see love of swing dancing above).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 11 I was a part a CISV (Children's International Summer Villages) Village in Osaka with other 11-year-olds from all over the world. I stayed in a school, and with 2 different host families. Even though we didn't speak the language (with the families and other Villagers) but we found creative ways to make communication possible, express friendship, gratitude, and learn about each other. I left knowing that we're all one people under one sun.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a jack of all trades and master of none. One of the things I'm best at is cooking and baking. Whether you want to learn how to make Swiss meringue buttercream frosting or my famous ribs I'm happy to teach you!
