About Me

Patient, curious, and possess an unyielding willingness to embrace the unknown.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I teach Algebra to all grades at the high school level in Las Vegas. I am seeking experiences that will help me to continuously recenter and focus my perspective so that I am able to return to the classroom fully rejuvenated and motivated to develop lessons that will prepare my students for college, post-grad opportunity, and get them concerned about the world. I want to teach my students how to be global citizens by finding inspiration and delivering that to them. I also want to teach by example.

Interests

I have just begun studying ballet five days a week, but I also love electronic and experimental music.
Since I'm Korean, I love barbecue, but am totally sensitive to dietary restrictions and preferences. I have a nut allergy and all of my friends seem to be vegan or celiac, so I have a lot of experience eating exotic foods.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being that, on average, my students have moved/relocated over four to six times in their young lives, I wish also to explore the places they've been and open their eyes to more. Currently, we are developing a timeline project that shows what periods of their lives they've lived in all of these places, and they are excitedly putting pushpins on the maps of Las Vegas, the US, and the world. By gathering these diverse experiences and perspectives, we are creating something that will teach the values of reflection and sharing our stories, beyond what we're doing in Algebra I, to the entire school community.

What I Can Share with Hosts
