Now, that I have hosted a lot of people from many different parts of our earth, and I also have surfed some couches myself, I have to say, that CouchSurfing is one the best ways to get to know anything about other cultures, about the life in other countries, and also a great way to get to know some of the nicest human-beings from all around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music I like every music which can make you happy. Mainly I enjoy Rock- and Punk-music. Ska is fun, too. And, I admit, also music which can be heard in radio or tv charts, can sometimes be found if you zap through my MP3-player. Often it depends on how I feel at the moment, which music I like.
Movies In the last months I recognized, that watching horror films can be very interesting. Formerly I hated them, but after watching the first two parts of "Saw" and "The Grudge" I can not get enough of it. Besides, I really like good comedy films, especially the day after drinking too lot. And the last movie I saw at cinema was Atonement, because I loved the novel which the movie based on, and I also loved the movie.
Books I really like reading. One of my absolute favourite books are "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" by Milan Kundera, "Night Train to Lisboa" by Pascal Mercier, "Atonement" by Ian McEwan or also "Werther" by Goethe. My favourite author at the moment is Heinrich Heine, the great German guy. It is so fascinating, what kind of humour he produced in his books and lyrics like in "Germany. A Winter Fairy Tale."
I really like thoughtfully or sentimental books about incidents changing lifes or about the abberations a life of a character can take.
Besides, I love the criminal books of Henning Mankell, especially the books about commisar Wallander, because these books can also be very thoughtfully.
