ABOUT ME

I have lived in Southern Cal for most of my life but have also lived other places in the U.S. I'm most at home on the Northwest Coast, from Northern Cal on up, but Southern Cal has it's numerous charms.

I can be opinionated on a variety of subjects but I am striving towards listening more often than speaking. I love to question things that most everyone takes for granted. I like to strive for balance in all aspects of my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Experiences and human relationships are more important than appearances and material things.

It is possible to change the world in some small but significant way if you believe in and value yourself and your dreams.

Reality always exceeds the sum total of human ideas, and reality loves to prove this to us: anomolies abound.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was at Gay Pride in San Francisco a few years ago where thousands of people were on the streets and the lack of violence was amazing. I've seen flowers in the High Sierra that come out at night to reflect moonlight. I've seen the Pacific Ocean from the Santa Rosa mountain peaks above Idyllwild. I've seen a UFO fly over my head (I really don't know what it was!). I took part in the birth of my first child at his mother's side. I've given a eulogy for a friend's passing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some basic Spanish. Becoming fluent will be the next big educational challenge that I tackle. I've wanted to learn Spanish for a long time. After that its off to Standard Mandarin.

I possess a moderate amount of knowledge regarding comparative religion and philosophy of metaphysics and ethics. Real concrete stuff there...lol. =D
