About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Every year on my birthday I wake up in a different country to see the world and its cultures, find the best coffee and the most spectacular beach for my retirement!

ABOUT ME

Life is full of opportunities.

PHILOSOPHY

Smile. It goes a long way.
Compliment someone just because.
My favorite: The world is my playground as well as my tutor.
I also like: Never lost, just temporarily misplaced.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch is available.
Travelers from all countries are welcome. I love learning about other people and cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a couple couchsurfers, showed them around and had positive experiences. Some of my friends are surfers and hosts. It's a great community!

Interests

travel, jazz, coffee, laughter, relaxing with friends, volunteering, the ocean/boating/sailing/snorkeling, skiing, photography, raquetball, festivals, learning. I enjoy a little of everything and definitely trying new things.

Adventure: I traveled to Thailand solo and had 2 fabulous weeks. Too bad I didn't know about couchsurfing then.

Took my mother to Africa for a month. What an amazing trip!

Found Argentina and Uruguay to be friendly and relaxing.

Next up ... maybe Turkey or Morocco.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For 10 years I volunteered with the "Big Brothers/Big Sisters" program as a fundraiser, event planner, "big sister" and any other roles they needed fulfilled. I mentored a "little sister", actually 2. It feels great to contribute and support others. This was the most amazing thing I've done.

At one point in my investigations career I worked for an organization locating missing children and partnering with law enforcement. It was incredibly rewarding to find and bring home children who had been abucted.

You'll see the trend of wanting to help others.
