PLEASE READ THIS COUCH INFO & RESPOND TO #1-5 IN YOUR REQUEST! THANKS!

I don't want you to be disappointed staying here. *Please please please* read ALL the couch info and do #1-5.

If you don't follow these (admittedly annoying) steps, I will send a copy-paste denial. Otherwise, I will host you if I'm free!

1. Use my NAME (it's Dina!)

2. Have a AT LEAST ONE REFERENCE and a FULLY FILLED-OUT PROFILE

3. Please request *WITHIN 1 WEEK* of your stay date.

4. Request for *2 NIGHTS MAXIMUM*

5. Use this sentence: "I UNDERSTAND I WON'T HAVE A KEY."

Bonus: If you could be an animal, what would it be? And -- Is there anything YOU expect or need as a surfer? Let me know!

We can only host 1-2 people (sharing a bed or one on the bed / one on the floor. No pets)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf, host, participate in the message boards and organize small CS gatherings. I love that CS means different things for different people, and the conversations are fascinating.

Here are some good links for your San Francisco experience:

511.org, a transit-planning website for using the bus (aka Muni) & subway (aka BART)

GOLDSTAR, great site for deeply discounted tickets for shows in the bay area.

SF Funcheap, a list of, well, fun free and cheap stuff to do in SF.

Elements Hostel, about $25-$30/bed

Can't find a couch? Use the CS Couch Request Group for Nearby Cities!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed my way through Mexico, Guatemala, France, Spain and the US; hosted a bunch, traveled a bunch, have met some amazing people and continue to be wowed by this website that brings so many people together.

What's the deal with all the rules? Well, I've been called a "princess" so I like to make my expectations clear, and really appreciate a considerate guest since my living space is pretty communal. I also get distracted and woken up easily, so I'm looking for respectful and quiet guests!

Gifts generally make me uncomfortable, so no need to bring anything! Seriously! If you really prefer not to come empty-handed, a bottle of wine, a 6-pack of beer, TOILET PAPER or flowers are always welcome (but not expected!) I also collect postcards, and can trace stories of my life from the cards sent to me over the years. The greatest gifts I've gotten from CS guests are the postcards sent from their next destination!

Interessi

ABOUT ME: An outsourced techie, I'm now officially a school social worker and spend my times interacting with little kids and fighting a giant bureaucracy. I like to play hard, but I relax even harder. I play tenor sax in a band, write a travel blog, make renegade fiber-art and shop at the Farmer’s Market. Love hiking, hockey, witty banter, not-black coffee in bed and the vibrancy of cities. I’ve traveled the world by myself, but get anxious going shopping. I *never* turn down sushi or the chance to go out for oysters.

I love to drink wine and speak to CS'ers in broken Spanish & French in my horrendous New York accent. I'm also a big fan of the dive bar on the corner, with 85 kinds of beer and 2 pinball machines.

PHILOSOPHY

"He who goes once around the room is wiser yet than he who stands still."
