ABOUT ME

Hey everyone!  I am Lauren.  I am enthusiastic about traveling and meeting awesome people while seeing amazing things!  My goal in life is to see the world and meet and make friends everywhere I go!How cool would it to call up a friend on skype and instead of suggesting them to suggest meeting up locally, but to suggest meeting them up for lunch in another country?  The conversation would be like "hey you!  what are you doing this afternoon...?  Want to meet me for coffee in Vietnam?  Be there in 3.5 hours!"  lolI love adventure and being introduced to new things.  I love dancing, I love reading, I love EATING!  OMG!  That has to be one of my top favorite things to do, in this world, sleep being my 2nd favorite lol and a few other things but I would rather let my new couchsurfing buddies get to know me than to list them all on here! I am a very straight forward person.  What you see is what you get!  Just a happy little Asian girl who is trying to see the world and living a dream reality!  Lol I hope that made sense because it made sense to me but sometimes my thought process confuses people but enough of my psycho babble, I hope you all get to know me a bit by reading this and if not, well that just means we have to meet in person :)

PHILOSOPHY

How do you live your life?I am a believer of simplicity.  I love the simple things of life.  I do not really complicate myself with technology because I feel that there is so much life and places to go and see and meet and do.  I also believe in order to love and understand others, you must love and understand yourself, first.A favorite quote of mine short and sweet:  Maya Angelou"and still, I rise"  Powerful :)

What kinds of experiences have you had through CouchSurfing?  I have not yet had any experiences.  I'm just a virgin couchsurfer who is looking to pop my couchsurfing cherry! lol

What do you like to do in your free time?  Sleep, read, eat, cook, lay out by the pool, work on my tan, be by the beach, clean, give my friends massages, eat, take hot showers, take warm bubble baths, go shopping, go eating, go out, do things that locals like to do, karaoke, dancing, playing solitaire, playing chess, eating, and the list goes on and on lol.  And I know, I put eating on my list about 3 or 4 times, but you know, I just love to eat!  I love Bangkok for their McDelivery sip jet sip et, translation 1711, always there within 10 min lol I have simple non-complicating interests. :)

What do you like to watch, read, and listen to?I love anything funny to watch.  Comedy is my favorite genre.  Books, I love a good fiction book or books that are inspirational.  Music:  ALMOST everything.  Classical music, operas, Chinese music, Korean music, Thai music, Khmer music, rap, hip-hop, dance music, and the list goes on also.

Share a story of something that really struck you.When I went to Cambodia, I got over a lot of my fears.  I am extremely afraid of heights, I am not fully over it but I climbed a mountain with a friend of mine and that was a very proud moment for me.  I have never ever been more scared but I told myself that I have to take charge of my mind and not let my mind take charge of me.  So therefore, with just sandals on, not even the right gear to climb a mountain, I did it and to me that was so amazing.

What kinds of skills or information could you share with someone? What would you like to learn?I think I can show people how to be independence.  I feel that if one cannot learn how to be alone with one's self and one's thoughts, then he or she will be relying on others to fulfill a need.  And I feel that can be dangerous.   And also to remind people that life is too short so why let little things bother us, why not do things we've always wanted to try, and to not be scared.  As far as learning, I am open-minded to everything and love learning so whatever it is, throw it at me!
