About Me

In 2009, I quit my job in the TV industry, gave away everything I owned, and backpacked non-stop for two years through 25 countries. I would later spend four months traveling through South America and two months in Central America, and confirmed that there is no cure for the travel bug. I'm a ruined woman.

I keep the traveler spirit alive by constantly trying to meet new people and seeking out new adventures at every opportunity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been blessed to Couchsurf through Europe, Asia, Oceania and Central and South America, and every single experience has touched my heart in one way or another. I have incredible memories and beautiful friendships from my travels, many of which wouldn't have happened at all if it weren't for Couchsurfing.

I feel like I have family all over the world. When people ask me about my travels, I find myself talking more about Couchsurfing than anything else!

It's about people.
It's about humanity.
It's about sharing.
It's about kindness.

Some of the places I've surfed:

A hardwood floor in New Delhi
A riverside mansion in Goa
A university dorm in Bratislava
A treehouse in Oakland
A tanning bed in Sint-Michielsgestel
A country house in Tuscany
A dance studio in Prague
A jungle cottage in Trancoso

One of my fondest Couchsurfing memories was matchmaking my host with someone with whom she eventually had her first child!

Interests

Anthropology and Cultural Immersion. I find humanity fascinating and am always trying to learn about different cultures and sub-cultures.

Food. I have a wildly adventurous palate. I tend toward the exotic, the fatty, the salty, and will try anything at least once.

The Outdoors. I love to be outside - going hiking, dining al fresco, bike riding on the beach, lying on the grass, staring at the sky.

Oh, and I'm obsessed with current events. Equally obsessed with karaoke. And I'm currently teaching myself the ukulele.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ate a tarantula once. Is that amazing? Or is that just gross? :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I CRAVE language. I desperately want to be fluent in Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm told that I bring sunshine everywhere I go. Not literally, of course - I live in one of the most dreary, rainy places in the US! But I do have a way of bringing smiles, joy and laughter to just about any occasion.
