Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When my old friend Dan came back from his travels through Europe with his girlfriend, he was keen to host couch surfers, just as others had hosted him. He ran the idea past myself and our other roomate and we thought it was a great idea! In only a short time later we were hosting people from all around the world! We made new friends, discovered new things, told interesting stories, made each other some great foods, partied when there were parties and generally broadened our worlds without having to leave our house. Top stuff!

Interests

The first thing that comes to mind is that I love having a chat and being social! I'm into travelling (of course), meeting new people, seeing new places, blah, blah, blah. I have occassional forays into geekery (games, D&D, comics, etc). Although I don't intend on being a teacher, I've had various teaching-related jobs and I enjoy it a lot. I'm a black belt in Rhee Taikwon-do and I intend to get back into that when I eventually get back to Australia because it's challenging, fun and I suck at ball sports. The internets a pretty cool place; I like getting sucked into websites like Wikipedia or TV Tropes without realizing hours have past.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll like any movie or book as long as it's engaging. In regards to music, I can at least find one artist from each genre that appeals to me but I tend towards garage rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I up an moved my entire life from urban Australia to rural Japan to become an ALT. So far, this has proven to be an "amazing" experience.
